ABOUT THE COTTAGE FOUNDERS

Neale Svenson

Born in the UK, Neale started in the health field in 1976 from a sporting background and family. Two injuries not helped by Western Medicine led to him exploring and later gaining qualifications in Massage, Osteopathy and Chinese Medicine. Having studied Martial Arts that  progressed to teaching and assisting in running a Martial Art’s club in England, Neale met a Qigong Master, opening him up to a whole new understanding of health and taking responsibility.

Neale has run his own clinic for 25 years. He is a qualified Qigong Instructor and his passion is to educate people in the art of wellness. Neale’s other studies include Buddhism and Taosim with Meditation and Tea Ceremonies to bring about centeredness and stillness. Neale has lived in England, France, Canada and New Zealand.

Jeri-Lee Svenson

Born in the Philippines, Jeri moved to New Zealand with her family when she was ten years old. Her decision to study Psychology stems from her childhood experience of culture shock and her innate thirst for understanding people and their behaviours. She graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2000.

Jeri has worked as a Human Resource Manager at several Day Care centres in the Gold Coast. She now enjoys being a full-time mother and currently runs an intellectual marketing business from home. Jeri is an avid student of Qigong, loves cooking and has a passion for travel. She has lived in the Philippines, Chile, England, and New Zealand.

Both Neale and Jeri now reside in Australia. They are co-founders of Bamboo Cottage along with Jenny Sheward and Gary Spence.
